1250 Ton Elevator
The Frank’s 1250 Ton Elevator is the first casing elevator available to
the industry with a safe working load rating greater than 1000 tons. (Tool has
been load tested to 5,000,000 lbs. in order to achieve a 1250 SWL Rating in
accordance with API 8C criteria.)
Unique design allows the tool to grip casing with improved resistance to
slip crushing in comparison to standard casing tools.
Equipped with Frank’s patented Spider/Elevator Interlock system that
ensures that either the spider or the elevator is properly set on the pipe
before the companion tool is allowed to open.
Elevator is compatible with 1000 Ton Varco and 1380 Ton Blohm & Voss
Elevator bails and for lower string weights, Frank’s can provide 1000 Ton x
750 crossover bails to provide a means to use this elevator on rigs equipped
with 750 Ton rated top drives and/or blocks.
Slips open to provide a passage which is 5” in diameter over the nominal
pipe size for which the tool is dressed. This feature provides for easy
passage of large O.D. couplings, lift nubbins and other components. For
example, with the elevator dressed for 20” casing, the passage thru the open
slips is 25” I.D.
Tapered casing strings can be run with little or no adjustments and
without changing the slips. |
