Assistant Controller for South American Operations – Houston, Tx
The candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
- Provide guidance and resources to in-country accounting team
- Analyze monthly and year end financial reports and offer recommendations for changes
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger
- Provide monthly, quarterly and year end analysis
- Coordinate or assist with the budget process
- Analyze variable costs and make appropriate budget adjustments
- Assist in month end closing for Corporate Office
- Hire and train in-country upper level accounting staff
- Develop a firm understanding of Brazilian taxation and ensure compliance
- Serve as liason to external auditors for South America and Corporate Office
- Other special projects and duties as required
Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 7 – 10 years experience in the related field. Must be fluent, both verbal and written, in Spanish and/or Portuguese. Must be proficient in Excel. Experience with Great Plains accounting software package a plus.
